Marie Detty Youth & Family Services completes a thorough assessment on families referred by the Department of Human Services for kinship foster care, traditional foster care, and adoption. This assessment is then used by DHS to determine if a home will be considered as a placement for youth. Our goal is to complete quality home studies the Department of Human Services can use to make informed decisions on foster home applications in a timely manner.
The resource family assessment is a lengthy process and requires a minimum of three visits to a family’s home to complete.
In order to be referred for an assessment, families are required to submit documentation to DHS related to mental and physical health, financial status, and family structure. An inspection of the family’s home and vehicles is also completed to determine appropriateness prior to being referred for the assessment.
This program is only available to families referred by the Department of Human Services.
